Bio
Feargal is an expert in governance and technology transfer. His background, combining medical science with corporate and IP law, provides a strong foundation for his career in the commercialisation of translational research. He has successfully licensed and spun out technologies for both Ulster University and the Russell Group Queen’s University Belfast.
Areas of Interest
Most recently, his vocation for medical science and equitable access to and improvement of healthcare led him to the National Institute of Health and Social Care Research (NIHR), the largest funder of healthcare research in the UK. Here, he led a team that focused on securing ROI for public funding of commercialized research and Public-Private Partnerships for healthcare infrastructure improvements within the NHS and the wider UK healthcare research ecosystem.
What You Hope to Achieve During the Programme
Through the DigiBio HealthTech Innovation Programme, Feargal hopes to bring his experience of developing technologies that address unmet needs to market, improving equitable access and quality of care for the benefit of all people on the island of Ireland and across the globe.
